About the website

This website is intended as a simplified, concise, and widely accessible treatment of topics with a philosophical and spiritual theme.

Of course, a natural question to ask is, 'Why should we be interested in philosophy and spirituality?' There are many reasons, but one of the most significant is because what we believe matters. Our beliefs shape the way we see the world, and when we hold poor beliefs, our lives can end up being much worse off because of it.

By applying philosophy and its methods of rational evaluation to key spiritual questions, we can not only discover where we have gotten things wrong, we can open up opportunities for believing better things.

The Aztecs believed that the continued existence of the world was precarious, and could only be secured by sacrificing people alive to the gods. This horrific false belief led to the gruesome and pointless deaths of many tens of thousands of people. Photo: Wikicommons
